What an Advent-ture!

The Absolute team had security truly wrapped up over the holiday season with the launch of our digital advent calendar! Each working day of December players could access the online calendar, open a door and answer a question about Absolute or the festive season for the chance to win one of five awesome prizes.

Questions ranged from a tricky, “What does ZTNA stand for?” to a slightly less challenging “How many Reindeers pull Santa’s Sleigh?”

It was great to see everyone playing along every day and massive congrats to the eighty-five people across the globe that won a daily prize. The fun didn’t stop there though as each correct answer for the whole month was submitted into an automatic draw last week to win the grand prize and the lucky winner took home a £200 gift card!

“Thank you – I received my e-gift card! I hope you come up with more projects like this one around Absolute in the coming year. It’s been great fun.”

As well as spreading a little Christmas cheer, it’s important to give back too. We pledged to donate £5 for every sign up to the Advent Calendar to a local charity. By the end of the year we had a whopping 1,000 people playing from all over the world and as a result have raised an amazing £5,000 for  The Big Match, who provide sporting equipment and life-saving defibrillators to schools, nurseries and football grounds in and around Berkshire and Hampshire, UK.

According to Arrythmia Alliance around 100,000 people die each year in the UK from sudden cardiac arrest. AEDs or (Automated External Defibrillators) if used in conjunction with CPR can increase the chance of survival significantly.

The Big Match has raised over half a million pounds organising fantastic charity fund-raiser events to pour back into the local community by suppling 50 defibrillators to schools, nurseries and football grounds and sponsoring grassroots children’s sports clubs. The Big Match also works with and supports the Brain Tumour charity and Action for Children.

Founder, Neil Humphries said, “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Absolute Software and everyone that took part in helping raise these funds. They will go directly into supplying more defibrillators and supporting grassroots sports clubs for children across Berkshire and Hampshire. Thank you for making a difference.”

Thank you so much to everyone that played along last month and hopefully you learned something about Absolute Software along the way.
